On the occasion of the 356th anniversary of the great Agra escape incident, Indo Athletics Society organized a cycle ride from Pune to Shivneri, participation of 575 cyclist.



On the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's escape from Agra, every year Indo Athletics Society organise a 200 km cycle ride Pune - Shivneri - Pune, this year 575 cyclists participated in it. This year is the fourth year of the ride. On the route riders given the message of environment and health in the society. A distance of 100 kilometers was covered in five to six hours in one day. On Saturday, September 2, the bicycle ride started at six o'clock in the morning from Godown Chowk, Moshi, with the flag off. At this time,  Ajit Patil and Ganesh Bhujbal of IAS were present.



Escape from Agra is great importance in history. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj left Agra on 17th August 1666. This year marks the completion of 356 years of this event. They started from Agra and covered a distance of 1300 kms through Mathura, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gaya, Cuttack, Hyderabad, Malkhed, Vijaypur, Gokarna, Panhala and Rajgad Fort in thirteen days and reached Rajgad on 30th August. Gajanan Khaire Founder member of IAS and history scholar, said that we organize Pune to Shivneri ride every year to pay tribute to the feat of this Maharaja.

Pune to Shivneri Cycle Route-

Nashik Phata - Rajgurunagar - Manchar - Narayangaon - Shivneri. It was like this.All the cyclists after trekking in Lenyadri Ashtavinayaka went to Ozar for a stay and the return journey was completed on the same route the next day. This was said by IAS Shivneri cycle ride chief Madan Shinde, Dadasaheb Nakhate,  Prashant Tayde and Avinash Chowgule.

Giriraj Umrikar, Amit Pawar, Ramesh Mane, Sushil Ji More, Shrikant Chaudhary, , Prateek Pawar, Sushil More, Shreyas Patil,Maruti Vidhate, Ajit Gore, Amit Pawar, Avinash Anushe, Pranay Kadu, Shrikant Chaudhary, Pradeep Take, Pratik Pawar, Kailas Shet Tapkir, Prakash Kamble etc. played important roles. IAS Riders were welcomed by Hutatma Rajguru Cycle Club at Rajgurunagar, Sai Sansthan at Narayangaon and Shivneri Athletic Association. Masala milk was distributed to all by Shreeraj Hotel Narayangaon.
